Mr. Patrick Barrett

Mr. Patrick Barrett has served at Lake Mary High School for the past 18 years as a Special Education teacher, working with students across a wide range of abilities from those needing accommodations in general education science classes to students with profound intellectual disabilities. For the past five years, he has focused on teaching math and science while guiding Access Diploma students in daily living and employability skills, including launching a successful student-run coffee shop that provides both program funding and valuable work experience. In addition to his classroom work, Mr. Barrett has been deeply involved in athletics, coaching football for eight years, serving as the head varsity girls' weightlifting coach for 17 years, coaching girls' lacrosse for 12 years, and acting as an Assistant Athletic Director for the past five years. Most importantly, he has shared the love of Christ on campus through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, encouraging students in both their personal growth and their faith journey.
